Computer-Aided Machining

 

Design and manufacture of an improved part from an aluminum block with computer-aided machining software.

 

The Problem:

Use computer-aided machining software to plan the manufacturing process of a streamlined part.

The Results:

I worked to design and manufacture a part from an aluminum block with computer-aided machining software. Machining time was limited to 30 minutes or less, so I made a detailed plan that showed that minor changes in the design could reduce machining time, and produce an improved, more streamlined design overall.
